CHEMISTRY: What is Armodafinil?
Armodafinil is a benzhydryl acetamide compound, consisting of 2 benzene rings boned with 1 carbon molecule and an acetamide group bound to carbon. It is an active R-enantiomer of MODAFINIL.
USES OF ARMODAFINIL:
ARMODAFINIL is a FDA-approved drug used to treat uncontrollable sleeping disorder related with Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Narcolepsy and Shift Work Sleep Disorder. This drug helps to keep you awake.
The dosage usually depends on the on the medical condition of a person and the reaction to the drug, which can be different for different individuals. Armodafinil is supplied as a 50mg, 150mg and 250mg tablets which can be orally administered.
For Treating Narcolepsy and Obstructive Sleep Apnea: It is advised to take 150mg or 250 mg drug usually once in the morning or as directed by your doctor.
For Treating Shift Work Sleep Disorder: It is advised to take 150mg drug daily once, usually one hour before the work shift starts or as directed by the doctor. It can be administered with or without food however, the drug might take longer time to work, if taken along with food.
Armodafinil can be helpful in keeping you awake, but this medication can also become an addiction. It is important to administer the amount of drug exactly as prescribed by the doctor or the physician.

Armodafinil is a Central Nervous System (CNS) stimulant. The pharmacological properties of Armodafinil are similar to that of Modafinil. Armodafinil indirectly activates Dopamine Receptors. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter which plays a major role in wakefulness, motivation.
